FAA Part 107: Exam Guide, Format & Official Sources
First-time applicants follow the FAA initial knowledge-test and IACRA application pathway. This learning module separates pilot qualification, aircraft registration and operational approvals.
Initial pilot qualification
The FAA initial pathway includes an FTN, knowledge testing, IACRA application and the stated security processing. Pilot eligibility includes age 16, English ability and a condition compatible with safe operation.
- Knowledge recency is maintained through the applicable testing/training framework.
- Aircraft registration is a separate requirement.
Current-rule learning boundaries
Current night and over-people provisions are taught from the current FAA overview and AC107-2A. The older study guide is used only for stable weather, chart and performance learning, not obsolete night restrictions.
- Selected current Part 107 initial knowledge foundations; not complete official test coverage.
- 200 learning items across 48 rule/task families; related parameter cases do not represent 200 independent knowledge domains.
- Original schematic diagrams are not official sectionals and do not authorize actual operations.
- No aircraft-specific flight competence, official score prediction, waiver issuance or adaptive examination is provided.
- Independent qualified aviation educator review and learner calibration remain pending.

Aircraft registration
FAA currently states$5per Part 107 aircraft for 3 years. This is aircraft registration, not the knowledge-test charge.
